I love to buy good domains and sell them. I have few good domain in my hands at that moment. Among thousands of my domains, there are really few very good domains ;combination of two, three or four words.Here is a part of my domain list.
There is a website of a Bengali Writers’ Community named “Sachalayatan.com“, they started their journey on 31-Aug-2006, the site is promising among the Bengali sites in the world. Once I was checking if the sachalayatan.net or other .TLD are available or not. I got all the .TLD rather than dot com are still available. I then bought dot net, dot org and dot info on 01-Apr-08.
After buying those three domains I kept them unused, I didn’t put them in parking as well. On 15-02-2009, I got a request from the owner of the domain Sachalayatan.com if I could give the other domains to him. I didn’t spend one second to give it to him without charging a penny. That showed that I didn’t have any bad intention to use those domains.While buying those domains, I thought the owner of the dot com of sachalayatan may need the other domain once upon a time. I thought it would be a surprising event when I would give them without charging a penny!
Well, everything was so far okey until the owner of that dot com owner described the buying of dot net and dot org as a crime! See the comment-131( Its in Bengali so you may need to get the help from a bengali-knowing person).
I would like to give some information about the term Mr. Owner of Sachalayatan used to describe the buying of the domains as a crime. Yes, he used the term “Cybersquatting” and also gave the reference of “Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act”. Some of lay person having little knowledge about having the domains jumped over me and were getting shout.
Huh, I love to share you an example of holding a domain in the name of a country. I, myself, have few domains in the name of the country “Bangladesh”. Guys! did you see the site www.bangladesh.com which belongs to Paley Media, Inc. So, do you think Bangladesh government has the right to sue Paley Media, Inc for belonging the domain? Come on man, what you ask the Bangladesh Government to sue them under your “Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act”.
Ohh, I forgot to tell you the asking price of the domain www.bangladesh.com. Its now USD 100000. Dont believe??
I think many of internet savvy persons knew about the site www.whitehouse.com, www.whitehouse.org and www.whitehouse.net . USA Government doesn’t own these three domains of whitehouse even they could not bring back the ownership of the domains to them. Once the Whitehouse.gov authority sent a letter to the owner of the www.whitehouse.com but never forget to give the right to use the domain.
However distasteful your business may be, we do not challenge your right to pursue it or to exercise your First Amendment rights.

So, whitehouse couldnt stop the three sites www.whitehouse.com, www.whitehouse.org and www.whitehouse.net . Could you?
I dedicated this www.whitehousesite.com to those lay persons who don’t have any good knowledge about having the domains to show that how I could get a domain similar to www.whitehouse.gov and run the site.
Another note I must add to the write-up, there may be other sides of the story like that.
International pop star Madonna has won the rights to the domain name madonna.com in the latest high-profile cybersquatting case dealt with by the UN body WIPO.
The organisation, which arbitrates in cybersquatting cases, ruled that the owner Dan Parisi had failed to prove a legitimate interest in the domain name and had registered it in bad faith.
The madonna.com web site had reportedly been used as a porn site.
